Day 214 Friday March 4th Australian Woodturning
Kerry has become a friend to Barbara after she has bought so much of his wood bowls and we visit him at home in his shop. He turns bowls from the seed pods of the Australian Banksia Tree and teaches me how to do it. I have wanted to get a lathe for some time. Shown here is the seed pod of the Banksia in it's early form and then final, driend, form. Then the base seed pod before it is segmented and then glued into what will be the top lip of the bowl.
