More California friends arrive and so the six of us drive out one and half hours into the wine growing area of Hunter Valley and spend the day visiting different wineries and tasting their wines. Lots of country out here with beautiful rolling hills and small sleepy towns. We manage to see some wild kangaroos. I started off thinking that Australia was a ribbon development around its beaches and just a half mile inland it would be desert all the way to Ayres Rock but that’s definitely not the case and much of the landscape is greener than California.
