Day 124 Saturday December 4th Jaipur, Rajistan. Mansingh Palace Hotel- a mouse in the mousse.

We take 2 days off from the tour and everyone else and head off to explore by ourselves. We walk the bazaars of Jaipur (It was painted pink in 1876 to welcome the future King Edward the 7th and the tradition has been maintained) and people watch. I buy my own image of the God Ganesh (he's watching me now) but everything goes downhill after that.
A bunch of young school girls try and break the Guiness Book of records for the number of girls in a Tuc-Tuc. They crowd around us and practice their English. We get some Xmas shopping done in a shop where we are offered tea and get very good service but then I need a bathroom and the shop owner is embarrased to tell me that everyone just urinates outside but then he has me escorted to the nearest tourist site and gets me past the ticket entrance so I can use the tourist bathrooms inside. We visit the attractive City Palace. Dinner at the Hotel includes the discovery of a mouse running around the tempting mousse and so we pass. The evening sound and light show at the Agra Fort is surprisingly good and we learn all about the Rajputs versus the Moghuls.
